We train yoga teachers, health coaches, bodyworkers, healthcare workers and complete beginners — as well as people who simply want to take better care of their own health. No prior Ayurveda study is required for Level 1.

No. Level 1 starts from the foundations and builds step by step. If you already work in healthcare or wellness, the material will layer onto what you know and give you a classical framework for it.

Level 1 graduates are certified Ayurvedic Health Advisors, working in preventative care through diet, daily routine, lifestyle and herbal remedies. Level 2 graduates are Ayurvedic Practitioners, working clinically with assessment, treatment and customized therapies, and prepared to build a practice of their own.

Begin with a self-paced online short course such as Principles of Health or Women's Health, or read Ayurvedic Herbs of the Caribbean. Everything we teach is listed in the course catalog so you can choose the level of commitment that fits you now.

Level 1 has no academic prerequisites — you need to be 18 or older, comfortable reading and studying in English, and able to attend the weekly live classes and the in-person intensive. Level 2 requires Level 1 with us or comparable Ayurvedic training that we have reviewed.

First, write to us at info@mahavidyaayurveda.com or use the contact form so we can talk through your background and confirm which level and format fit you. Next, pay the non-refundable deposit for your level to hold your place in the cohort. We then send your enrollment paperwork, payment plan if you need one, class schedule and materials list, and welcome you into the student community before classes begin.

Yes, we review transfers case by case. Send us your transcript, hours completed and course descriptions at info@mahavidyaayurveda.com, and we will tell you which of your hours we can credit and whether you are ready to begin at Level 2 or should complete parts of Level 1 first.

Level 1 is our 600-hour Ayurvedic Health Advisor certification and covers the foundations and preventative care. Level 2 is the 900-hour Ayurvedic Practitioner certification and is the clinical path — assessment, treatment planning, customized therapies and practice building.

Level 2 is designed for Level 1 graduates and for practitioners who already hold comparable training. If you studied elsewhere, write to us and we will review your background before you enroll.

Both levels run as cohorts with weekly live classes over the course of the program, plus in-person intensives. Contact us for the current start dates and the schedule for your level.

The certifications are hybrid. You study live online each week from the classical texts — Charaka, Sushruta and Ashtanga Hridayam — and come together in person for hands-on intensives. Our short courses are fully online and self-paced.

Classes are taught live rather than as pre-recorded videos, so you can ask questions and be corrected in real time. Recordings are available if you miss a session.

Students join us from across the Caribbean, the United States and beyond. Ask us for current class times in your time zone before you enroll, and use the recordings for anything that falls at an impossible hour.

A BAMS physician with an MD in Ayurveda and more than 17 years of hospital and clinic practice in India, our founder and author with over 25 years in Ayurveda, herbalism and Pancha Karma, an integrative health nurse with three decades in healthcare, and adjunct faculty and mentors including an Ayurvedic chef.

Tuition covers all faculty instruction and live classes, plus the required course materials for your level. Travel for the Puerto Rico intensive and the India immersion are priced separately.

A non-refundable deposit holds your place in your level's cohort. You can pay the Level 1 or Level 2 deposit online at any time.

Yes. Monthly payment plans are available for the duration of the program. Write to us and we will set one up with you.

No — the deposit is non-refundable, because it reserves a seat in a limited cohort. If your circumstances change before your cohort begins, contact us as early as possible and we will talk through your options.

Mentorship is the spine of everything we teach, not an add-on — it is how the texts become clinical judgment. We also offer mentorship to active students and graduates from other programs.

It is an eight-day residential intensive on the north-west coast of Puerto Rico, in Isabela: applied bodywork and therapy practice, medicine making, and Caribbean plant study with local farm visits.

The India immersion is an invitation, not a requirement. Students who join us study inside a working Ayurvedic clinic and hospital, tour herbal gardens, learn therapeutic cooking, and visit the classical sites of the tradition.

International airfare to India is not included. Domestic transfers within India are included. A deposit is due by October 31, 2026 for the 2027 trip.
